ALPINE AREA UPDATES:

4:00 PM Update: We have high overcast skies with some snow showers, light winds and excellent snow conditions this afternoon! It looks like it is going to be a great evening at Cypress Mountain and our Kitchen Staff are serving up some mighty tasty food! (hint - check out the "daily COUPON" today!!). This is Family Pizza Night also - check below for details.

Friday Morning Early Update: Temperatures remained cold overnight which have held good firm packed conditions from all of our recent snowfall. Secret Stashes are still around so if you missed yesterday's epic conditions get up and take a look around!

The Grooming Crew had another excellent night working on terrain expansion and as a result Gibsons, Lower Cat Track off Lions Express and Shoreline off Raven Ridge will be groomed and open for the first time all year!

The Crew is picking Humpty Dumpty as a perfect place to start if you can "Do the Blue" - find the entrance at the breakover at the bottom terminal of Sky Chair and point your gear down through the Old Growth Forest - this Blue Square Run has a real nice feel, and gentle intermediate slope with wall to wall corduroy this morning - finish off on Horizon down to the bottom terminal of Lions Express!

Visibility is unlimited early this morning and yesterday's mountain top winds have diminished so we plan to have Sky Chair operating today!

Remember that crossing Ski Area Boundaries is prohibited - keep a buddy in sight at all times in the trees and practice Tree Well Safety - do not follow anyone beyond ropelines or fences!

NORDIC AREA UPDATES:

Winter’s back in Cypress Nordic! We have lots of new snow so whatever adventure you have planned it will be a great day to enjoy the mountain. 

40/44 of our trails are now open, packed and track set and in excellent conditions for both skate and classic skiing.  The trees are covered in snow and the snowshoe trials are like a winter wonderland. Our tube park and sliding areas are fun for the whole family, so what ever your adventure its a great day to come and play in the snow.

Cypress Nordic is going GREEN.  Our compost program is now in full swing with the goal of reducing our garbage by 95% over the next 18 months.  Hollyburn Lodge and the Nordic Cafe are now serving with dishes designed to be turned back into soil for BC agriculture (yes even the cutlery and clear cups are made from plant based material, not plastic).  We have also replaced 2 of our snowmobiles with 4-stroke engines, which will reduce both noise and the smell of exhaust from our trails.
