What’s New for the 2010-2011 Winter Season? Posted June 17, 2010

“Go BIG and Stay Home” at Cypress Mountain

Cypress Mountain is busy preparing for the 2010-2011 winter season.  The clean-up of the Olympic Venues is almost complete and we are certainly looking forward to getting back to a winter season with great snow and absolutely every lift, run and terrain area open!

When we re-open next winter at Cypress Mountain we will have completed the wholesale re-grading of Lower Panorama which has been closed for the past three winters to make way for the Snowboard Venue.  Panorama has always been Cypress Mountain’s most popular run and with its reopening  and the recent  improvements we have made to Windjammer, Midway, Collins, Hutch and Fork/Gully, Cypress will undoubtedly provide unequalled Family skiing and riding terrain.  Improvements have also commenced on the underutilized terrain area encompassed by Lower Fork and Cascade ski runs – this will provide exciting all weather access to this challenging section of the mountain.  Continuing the summer grooming improvements to provide great skiing and riding terrain regardless of the snowpack is a high priority for Cypress Mountain and we plan to continue this work in coming years.  We have also opened a vast array of new terrain choices over the past three years clearly creating “Vancouver’s Only Big Mountain Experience”.

With our state of the art Snowmaking System now freed up from the concentrating on the Venue courses we plan to get an early start on making snow on all the Eagle Express terrain for a planned November opening.

We also have an economical Season Pass selection ideal for anyone who can schedule their skiing or riding outside of the peak periods – check out our new aptly named “Off Peak” Season Pass on our Alpine Season Pass page for this exciting new pass that is your most cost effective way to enjoy the slopes next winter.
